2024, UX/UI design
Role: Sole designer with support from a content manager

Funct.com approached me to lead the design of their website portfolio.

As part of this project, my objective was to create a modern, intuitive interface showcasing the company’s projects and services.

Process

The redesign process started with an analysis of the existing website, pinpointing pain points, areas for improvement and new features. Through user surveys, interviews, and competitor analysis, I gained insight into user preferences and industry standards. I created moodboards, low fidelity and high fidelity wireframes , focusing on intuitive navigation and clear communication of features and services that Funct provides.

I interviewed the CEO to learn about their vision and needs for the website’s new look and feel. The interview was centered around the following questions:

  • What differentiaties Funct from other products in market?

  • What UI attributes should the product embody?

  • What other interfaces inspire you?

Afterwards, we worked together to define product requirements and constraints; conducted competitive analysis; and ran an audit of the current product for UX and UI issues along with potential improvements.

User flow

At each step, I designed the flow to minimize user effort and maximize clarity and engagement, ensuring that users can easily navigate through the process without feeling overwhelmed. Given the global and often on-the-go nature of the users, the entire flow is optimized for mobile devices, ensuring a seamless experience across different screen sizes.

One important task I took on with the redesign was reworking the Information Architecture so that users would better understand where they were in the product and be able to easily navigate from one area to the next.

Wireframes

Accessibility was a key consideration throughout the redesign process. I integrated features such as high contrast options and keyboard navigation to ensure inclusivity and usability for all users, regardless of their abilities. I also defined the basic design behavior change on scroll, as well as taxonomy structure of the filters.

I focused on optimizing performance and responsiveness across various devices and screen sizes, guaranteeing a seamless experience for users accessing Funct.com on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

Design system

I created a design system for Funct‘s website in order to maintain the consistency, streamline development and help collaboration across teams, ultimately providing a consistent and accessible user experience. The colors are very simple, using only one color to highlight links. I utilized the Tailwind CSS Cheat Sheet for layout properties, and used Material Symbols & Icons from Google.
